The Balanced Collective has teamed with with Shawna Barker BSc., RHN of Synergy Nutrition to provide all those attending The Balanced Experience Retreat a Raw Food Chef Workshop. The cost of this work shop is INCLUDED in the price of the retreat (valued at $125US), however there is an additional option to receive a Level 1 Raw Food Chef Certification for an extra investment of $25US.
Enjoy this informative, action-packed, 4 hour course. Learn about raw food nutrition, raw food preparation, flavour balancing, and food combining.
Learn how to prepare 8 gourmet recipes that are ready in 5-10 minutes! Samples of each recipe are provided, and at the end of the workshop we will enjoy a raw pasta dinner and dessert.
In this class you will learn:
~ What a raw and living food diet is.
~ How to make delicious raw food meals that taste just like your favourite cooked food dishes!
~ How to prepare gourmet raw food meals, simply and easily.
~ How to shop for raw foods.
~ How to get others excited about raw and living food!
You will leave this class not only inspired and motivated but knowing how to begin eating raw and how to make delicious raw food meals for yourself and others.
This workshop qualifies as the Level 1 Raw Food Chef Certification through Alissa Cohen's Living on Live Food Program. If you would like to receive the Certification it is $25US and will be emailed to you directly from Alissa Cohen's office within 1-2 weeks.

About the Instructor:
Shawna Barker BSc., RHN is a nutritionist, raw food educator, college instructor, and an expert in plant-based nutrition. She is passionate about natural health and sustainable living. This interest led her to graduate with honours from the University of British Columbia with a BSc degree in Food, Nutrition and Health, as well as the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition with a Diploma in Holistic Nutrition.
Shawna began her journey towards health and nutrition over 23 years ago when she decided to change her diet at a very young age and was determined to learn everything she could about nutrition, food science, natural health, and how to thrive on a plant-based diet.
As the founder of Synergy Nutrition, she is able to teach, inspire, and motivate her clients and students about the benefits of nutrition and natural health. Drawing from her background in both science and holistic health she is able to supply the inspiration and knowledge to support her clients' health with a comprehensive program including individualized diet, supplement, and lifestyle recommendations.
